Summary of North Gorley
North Gorley sits on the edge of the New Forest, the kind of place where the verges are unfenced, ponies wander onto the lane without much ceremony, and the houses are spaced out enough that you notice hedgerows more than neighbours. It's a village in the fullest sense — no high street to speak of, no visible centre of gravity, just a scatter of homes folded into forest and paddock.
There isn't enough on the record here to sketch the practical essentials with any confidence — no figures for schools, transport links, or crime specific to North Gorley itself, so I won't pretend to know how the commute works or which classroom your children would end up in. What I can tell you is the wider frame it sits within: New Forest district, where the typical home changes hands for around £385,000, comfortably above the national median of £281,000 and not far off the regional norm of £367,500. That's consistent with the story much of this stretch of the South East tells — semi-rural, protected landscape, prices pulled up by scarcity and setting rather than by commuter convenience.
Day-to-day life here is going to be shaped by the forest itself rather than by amenities on a doorstep — this is a place you drive from, not a place with a Saturday morning routine built around cafés and a parade of shops. Healthcare, schooling, and groceries will mean a trip into one of the surrounding towns, and that's worth sitting with honestly before you commit, rather than discovering it after the move.
