Church Brampton

Church Brampton looks exactly like what it is: a scattering of detached houses on generous plots, the kind of place where you notice the cars in the driveways before you notice anything else. There's no high street to speak of, no parade of shops pulling in passing trade — this is a village that people drive into and out of rather than one you stumble across, and it draws a settled, older-skewing crowd rather than a young crowd chasing a scene.

The numbers behind that impression are stark. A population of 29 and a single recorded green space of under half a hectare tell you this is a hamlet-sized pocket rather than a village with its own centre of gravity — the "1 crime in 12 months" figure sitting alongside a breakdown of dozens of offences is a reminder that Church Brampton's own patch is tiny even though it's counted within a much larger local policing area. Take the crime picture as a rough regional signal rather than a street-level verdict; the safety grade of B+ and a flat trend are the more trustworthy read here. For schools, the same logic applies: Harlestone Primary and Brington Primary both carry Good Ofsted ratings, and The Bramptons Primary School serves the immediate cluster of villages, so families here are generally within reach of solid, small, community-run primaries rather than large academy machines.

Financially this is a comfortable corner of the East Midlands. It sits in the top income decile nationally and decile 8 for deprivation, which puts it among the better-off pockets of the country, and the property market backs that up — detached houses dominate, everything sold here recently was freehold, and the median sale price of £575,000 runs well above both the West Northamptonshire figure and the England-wide detached average. A "For Sale" board on this street is advertising space and privacy, not a starter home; the price gap to the parent authority (over double the typical local price) tells you this cluster trades at a premium even within an area that isn't cheap. Median age of 44.7, well above the national 40.4, fits a population of people who bought their space some years ago and have no pressing reason to leave.
